Who We Are:
ABI’s Principles

Usually my first question when considering a relationship with a vendor is “Can they deliver what I need?” Although the answer to that question is wrapped up in “what we do,” it is even more determined by “who we are.”

Here are four principles at the core of our business and our relationships with clients. At the root of our principles is the desire to create long-term relationships that meet both the needs of our clients and ourselves.

Integrity

The only way to create a long-term relationship is to gain trust. We gain trust by being honest and reliable, and by producing a quality book. How do we convince you we can do these things? The best way is for you to talk to our clients and find out about their experience of working with ABI. Ask them, “Did ABI deliver what you needed?” “Were they honest with you?” “Were they reliable?”

You can also talk to our printers. Ask them, “Is About Books a good customer to you?” “Are they honest and reliable?” “Are they good to work with?” It is easy for us to say we are honest and reliable. It’s more important to have our customers and suppliers say we are.

Quality

We only produce quality books. Our covers, interior designs, and printing are professional quality and equal to or better than competing books on the market. Everyone working with About Books, including our designers, editors, printers, and office staff, knows that making quality books is of the highest importance.

Service to Our Clients

One of the characteristics of our relationships with clients is our personal, friendly service. In this age of voice mailboxes, you will almost always get a person on the phone (occasionally all the lines are lit up).

Our job, as we see it, is to make you look good and to provide the resources to make your book project the way you want it. Our main goal is to meet your needs. Control of the project remains in your hands.

Service to People

We want to create books that help people and that make the world a better place. From novels that entertain to self-help books for improvement to textbooks that educate, we create books that bring knowledge to the world and enlightenment to individuals.

We like working with nonprofits and associations because their service is multiplied through their members. We like working with independent presses because their ideas are often fresh and new.

We believe in the free press and the individual’s right to speak out. At the same time, there are certain types of books we do not work on.

We do not produce books that are considered pornographic or that advocate violence or hate.

Integrity, quality, and service are the foundation of our principles. We invite you to find out “who we are.”

Sincerely,

Debi Flora,
President, About-Books Inc.
